Tonight: Menlo Park General Plan Advisory Committee meets

The Menlo Park General Plan Advisory Committee, a 13-person group that's guided the "ConnectMenlo" project thus far, will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, to discuss the latest drafts for new zoning districts in Menlo Park's M-2 industrial area.

"ConnectMenlo" is the city's name for its process to update Menlo Park's general plan, which governs future development in the city. Part of the process is drafting rules for development in proposed new zoning districts in the M-2 area, roughly bounded by San Francisco Bay, University Avenue, U.S. 101 and Marsh Road. The zones are: life sciences, office, and residential-mixed use.

The Jan. 28 meeting, scheduled to run for two hours, will be held in the Oak Room of the Arrillaga Family Recreation Center, located at 700 Alma St. in the Menlo Park Civic Center.

The discussion is expected to deal with topics such as community amenities, affordable housing, transportation, green and sustainable building standards, and other zoning regulations and design standards. Here is the meeting agenda.
