Saturday in Menlo Park: NFL players, police, firefighters in basketball fundraiser

National Football League athletes are headed to Menlo Park to play basketball on Saturday with local police and firefighters.

The game is set to run from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 6. It's a charity fundraiser for youth sports at Onetta Harris Community Center, 100 Terminal Ave. in Menlo Park.

Two competing celebrity teams, led by 49ers Bruce Ellington and Quinton Patton, will play basketball against each other.

Other athletes scheduled to attend are Antoine Bethea, Kendall Gaskins, Gerald Hodges, Bruce Miller, L.J. McCray, Aaron Lynch of the 49ers and other NFL athletes, along with Menlo Park and East Palo Alto police and firefighters, according to event organizer Steephen Ashford.

Admission is $10 and proceeds will go toward East Palo Alto youth sports programs and the East Palo Alto Phoenix Academy football program, said Mr. Ashford.

Let's face it, this site is run by unimaginative old ladies . How likely is it that the story will ever be seen, except by me and you, and maybe three ducks in a cow. Again I'm sure you'll pick up a straggler here or there, but let's be real: nobody reads this pitiful little site. They're also real touchy. Don't say anything in the comment, that they might not approve of( no one is discussing vulgarity or personal attacks or hate either). Don't attempt to express an opinion, unless you want the entire comment under handedly censored. I'm sure this will be deleted in no time. Must be nice to be able to sit in judgment of someone else just because you're envious. Quite frankly I find it unamerican.these are my opinions and in this country, I have a right to them. Censor away!
