13 openings for Menlo Park commissions

There are 13 current openings on various commissions across Menlo Park, and all residents of the city who are registered voters are eligible to apply.

The library has three vacancies. There are two vacancies each in the bicycle, parks and recreation, and planning commissions, and on the finance and audit committee. The environmental quality commission and housing commissions have one vacancy each.

Jim Cogan, the city's housing and economic development manager, pointed out that four of Menlo Park's five City Council members previously served on city commissions, and the other, (Mr. Ohtaki), served on the board of the Menlo Park Fire Protection district.

Applications are due March 17, 2016.

Go to the city's for more information and to see term lengths and expiration schedules.
