The developer MidPen Housing has begun construction of 90 units of affordable housing for seniors on 2.26 acres in the 1200 block of Willow Road in Menlo Park.

The development, called Sequoia Belle Haven, has mostly one-bedroom units and is being funded in part by $3.2 million from the city Menlo Park's "below market rate" fund. The housing is expected to be ready for occupancy by January 2017.
