Bus catches fire, causes backup on southbound Interstate 280

A bus caught fire early Wednesday morning on southbound Interstate 280 at Sand Hill Road in Menlo Park, according to an alert issued by 511 SF Bay Area.

The fire has been put out by firefighters.

The two right lanes of southbound I-280 have been blocked off, causing traffic to back up.

It is unclear if there were any injuries. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.

Commuters are advised to expect delays and to consider using other routes. There is no estimated time for clearing the blocked lanes.
