Saturday: 'Flashdash' photo scavenger hunt in Menlo Park

A photo scavenger hunt – called "Flashdash" – is coming to Menlo Park on Saturday, April 16.

The event, expected to run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., is a fundraiser hosted by the Junior League of Palo Alto-Mid Peninsula and will benefit programs that increase girls' participation in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) activities.

The local Junior League has designated girls' STEM participation as one of its "focus areas."

According to its website, the Junior League works with Technovation and the Tech Museum of Innovation to offer tech design and entrepreneurship challenges to girls in grades 4-12.

Flashdash will start at the Junior League office at 555 Ravenswood Ave. in Menlo Park. From there, participants will receive clues of things they need to photograph. Once they get their assigned photos, they must post them on Instagram or Twitter with a specific hashtag.

Cars are allowed, though most sites will be within walking distance, event planners said, and wacky costumes are encouraged. The event is restricted to participants 21 and over.

Tickets are $50 for individuals or $200 for a team of four. Purchase tickets by April 13.
