Wednesday: Meeting to explain workings of Atherton's Police Department

 

Atherton's City Council members, and interested members of the public, will receive a primer on the town's police department at a special meeting scheduled for noon Wednesday, April 20, in the town's council chambers at 94 Ashfield Road.

Acting Chief Joe Wade, who is filling in while Chief Ed Flint is out on family leave, will present "Atherton Police Department 101: Background and Information."

The talk will include information about the department's hiring and recruitment practices, staffing levels, training, equipment, vehicles and mutual aid with surrounding communities.
