Menlo Church people to package 350K meals for hungry California kids

More than 1,050 participants affiliated with Menlo Church are expected to package 350,000 meals by hand at three of the church's campuses in Menlo Park, San Mateo and Mountain View on Saturday, April 23, and and Sunday, April 24.

Those meals will be delivered to children facing hunger in Northern California.

The meal packaging and distribution project will be implemented via Feeding Children Everywhere, a Florida-based nonprofit that mobilizes people to assemble meals for hungry children.

According to Molly Slicker, a spokesperson for Feeding Children Everywhere, about one in seven people in California face food insecurity every day.

The meal that will be packaged is a lentil casserole formulated to combat malnutrition, said Ms.Slicker.
