Woodside fire district: how to prepare for wildfire

Residents of the Woodside Fire Protection District -- in Woodside, Portola Valley and nearby unincorporated areas -- have three opportunities this week to attend a seminar on how to prepare for a wildfire and evacuation.

Topics include the actions that families should take before, during and after such a fire, firefighters say. All presentations start at 6:30 p.m. The dates and locations are:

■ Tuesday, May 3, at the Portola Valley Community Hall at 765 Portola Road in Portola Valley.

■ Wednesday, May 4, at the Emerald Hills fire station at 4091 Jefferson Ave. in unincorporated Woodside.

■ Thursday, May 5, at Independence Hall at 2955 Woodside Road in Woodside.
