Wingding Family Fest

Celebrate spring and things with wings in the great outdoors this weekend, when the Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District and the Santa Clara Valley Audubon Society (SCVAS) host a day of eco-adventure, science, birding and hiking.

The event emphasizes learning about local winged creatures, including birds, insects and bats, through a variety of fun activities, such as geo-caching for bird-themed treasure, arts and crafts, nature walks, and up-close animal encounters.

Mayo & Mustard, a food truck, will be serving refreshments, and a variety of local groups will be exhibiting info.

The event is free and will take place Saturday, May 21, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Skyline Ridge Preserve, equestrian parking lot, one mile south of the Skyline Blvd. (Highway 35) and Page Mill/Alpine Road intersection. No dogs allowed.

The event will go on if it's drizzly but heavy rain cancels. For the full schedule, go to Wingding Family Fest.
