No ID yet on victim in I-280 crash in Menlo Park

Fatality Friday evening occured at northbound Sand Hill Road exit

The Santa Clara County Coroner's Office is not yet releasing the name of the victim in a fatal solo-vehicle crash on Interstate 280 on Friday evening (May 27) in Menlo Park.

The next of kin have yet to be notified, a representative of the Coroner's Office told the Almanac.

The driver, the only occupant of the vehicle, had been traveling north on I-280 and crashed into a concrete barrier at the Sand Hill Road off-ramp at about 7:52 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.

The driver was transported to a hospital, but was pronounced dead by medics after the ambulance left the scene, the CHP said.
