Menlo Park police use door hangers to notify residents of code violations

Since January, Menlo Park code-enforcement officers have used door hangers to notify Belle Haven residents that a property is in violation of city codes. According to city staff, 60 percent of households have corrected violations listed on the door hangers.

Residents are expected to fix a violation within 30 days of notification. Officers check for compliance and issue citations if necessary.

Suburban Park is the next neighborhood the city will focus on with this code-enforcement strategy, city staff said.
