Portola Valley: Free concert tonight after farmers' market

The Keller Sisters will provide the music for the second of Portola Valley's three 2016 free summer concerts this evening (July 21) on the grass at the Town Center, located at 765 Portola Road.

The duo performs original tunes that combine "storytelling, warmth and humor," according to their website. The Portola Valley Cultural Arts Committee calls their music folk/Americana with vocals, harmonica, guitars, upright bass and simple drums "delivered with just the right amount of sass."

The concert runs from 6 to 8 p.m. and follows the Thursday farmers' market, which runs from 2 to 6 p.m. in the nearby parking lot of the Historic Schoolhouse.

Picnics, including alcoholic beverages, are OK, as are chairs, children and well-behaved dogs, say organizers. Blankets and warm clothing are recommended.

For children, the afternoon will include a town library-sponsored "imagination playground" with foam blocks in the Community Hall.

Concert plans include two food trucks: Naked Chorizo and Izzy's Cheesesteaks.

The Cultural Arts Committee has scheduled one more Thursday concert on the lawn: Aug. 18, with Will Russ Jr. and "Force of Will" band.
