Menlo, Gunn continue winning streaks in boys water polo

Menlo School remained undefeated after beating host Bellarmine Prep, 8-5, in a nonleague boys water polo match on Tuesday and Gunn beat visiting Palo Alto, 8-5, to stay unbeaten in SCVAL De Anza Division play.

With the win, Menlo (16-0) breaks a longstanding tie between the two water polo programs over the past 17 years, taking a 7-6 lead in the series. Considered two of the top teams in CCS, but playing in different divisions (Bellarmine is Divison I while Menlo is Division II), the teams have developed what Menlo coach Jack Bowen calls, "a friendly but very competitive rivalry."
