New furnishings at Menlo Park Library

The Menlo Park Main Library has new furnishings indoors and out, including a picnic table with an umbrella in front of the entrance, and the replacement of all of the library's upholstered chairs.

The outdoor table, manufactured by Landscape Forms Inc., was set up in response to instructions from the City Council to "activate" the space outside the library, said Susan Holmer, Library Director.

Chairs that were replaced inside the library had been there since 1992, Ms. Holmer said. They had been reupholstered and repaired several years ago, but, she said, "it was time to fully replace them."

"I think they really give the place a nice facelift," she said.
