Menlo Park: Aug. 10 deadline for community police academy


The Menlo Park Police Department is offering a community academy for adults who want to learn more about criminal law, forensics and investigations, or wish to get a glimpse into the day-to-day life of police officers and public safety staff. People who are interested in participating in the academy can apply for the eight-week program, which will run Wednesdays 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., between Sept. 5 and Oct. 24. The deadline to apply is Friday, Aug. 10.
