Brendan Carney scored eight of his game-high 20 points during a decisive third quarter as the Sacred Heart Prep boys basketball team shook off the doldrums of a gloomy first half shooting performance to beat host Pinewood 70-34 in a West Bay Athletic League contest on Tuesday night.

It may have looked like a blowout but it was anything but through a first half that saw the Gators (5-7, 2-1) struggling with shots not falling and Pinewood (8-5, 0-3) taking advantage and making it a closely contested game. Read the story here.
