A motorcyclist died in a Menlo Park crash on U.S. Highway 101 early Saturday morning, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The 3:30 a.m. crash involved a 2008 Suzuki motorcycle and 2014 Jeep, and occurred in the area of northbound Highway 101 and Willow Road.

The motorcyclist, a 34-year-old East Palo Alto man, died at the scene and the 35-year-old Jeep driver did not report any injuries.

Officers said it’s unclear how the crash happened, but both vehicles were seriously damaged.

Two lanes of the highway were closed for about two hours afterward. The Jeep driver was not found to be intoxicated, but the CHP is still investigating the crash to determine if drugs or alcohol were involved.

The San Mateo County Coroner’s Office will identify the man once his family is notified.
