A motorcyclist was killed in a crash on Highway 84 Sunday, April 28, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The accident happened around 11:41 a.m. about a mile west of Skyline Boulevard, according to CHP Officer Art Montiel. The motorcyclist, a 26-year-old man from Campbell who was traveling westbound, lost control of his bike as he was navigating a left turn in the road, Montiel said.

The motorcyclist went 40 feet down an embankment and was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency personnel, Montiel said. It does not appear that drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.

One-way traffic control was implemented after the crash, and an SMC Alert was issued just after 12:30 p.m. The roadway fully reopened to traffic around 3:30 p.m.

Witnesses are encouraged to call Officer David LaRock at 650-369-6261 with any additional information.
