A water main replacement project began on May 31 in the Lindenwood neighborhood of Atherton and the Menlo Oaks neighborhood of unincorporated Menlo Park.
Crews are installing about 6,000 feet of water main on Edge Road from Oak Grove Avenue to Ringwood Avenue, and will continue along Ringwood Avenue and Coleman Avenue in work that is scheduled to be completed in September, according to California Water Service (Cal Water).
Workers will also be installing 150 feet of water main on Hillview Place, off of Hillview Drive, in Menlo Park.
Work on both projects is being performed Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Water service will be interrupted temporarily while homes are connected to the new water mains, according to Cal Water. Residents will be warned of the shutdowns, which will normally occur between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., the agency said.
Cal Water said in a news release that crews will make every effort to minimize traffic delays during construction.
Cal Water serves approximately 60,900 people through 18,900 service connections in Portola Valley, Woodside, Atherton, and portions of Menlo Park, Redwood City, and San Mateo County.
