Shot fired during confrontation in Menlo Park

A shot was fired during an argument between occupants of an unknown model black sedan and a gray Lexus SUV on Sunday afternoon near the intersection of Hamilton Avenue and Market Place in Menlo Park, according to a Menlo Park Police Department release.

Police said the shot was fired by someone in the black sedan. The incident was reported at 4:58 p.m.

Both vehicles fled the scene after the shot was fired, and officers subsequently found one expended shell casing at the site, according to the release.

Officers located the Lexus SUV, but the occupants claimed to have no knowledge of the incident.

Police are investigating the incident and are asking anyone who might have information about the case to call the department at 650-330-6300 or the Anonymous Tip Hotline at 650-330-6395.
