Home sales for the week of Oct. 7

 

A complete list of home sales on the Midpeninsula, where Palo Alto recorded the highest sale at $7,020,000 for a five-bedroom, four-level home in Old Palo Alto that includes a professional home theater and billiards room.

Home sales are provided by California REsource, a real estate information company that obtains the information from the County Recorder's Office. Information is recorded from deeds after the close of escrow and published within four to eight weeks.

Is is a tax loophole? Just curious, I'm sure there's some financial reason.

Yes, it's a tax loophole. If the house is never sold the property tax never resets to current value and the kids, if they're in the trust, can "inherit" the house without the taxes going up.

Look at all the taxes that went out the window because of this Trust loophole. I bet they still complain about lack of of gov't services or their costs ;)
