The Portola Valley Town Council will interview candidates for the Planning Commission and receive a report from the town’s Ad Hoc Wildfire Preparedness Committee Wednesday evening (Nov. 13).

It will also consider protests to a proposed 10-year garbage contract with San Jose-based GreenWaste Recovery and perhaps ratify the agreement.

The Wildfire Committee’s report can be found on page 190 here.

The Planning Commission interviews will take place beginning at 5 p.m. in the Town Hall Conference Room, 765 Portola Road.

The public hearing on the garbage contract and the wildfire report are on the agenda for the regular Town Council meeting to follow at 7 p.m. in Community Hall at Town Center, also at 765 Portola Road.

Six candidates, including two incumbents, have submitted letters of interest for two open seats on the Planning Commission, on which the incumbents’ four-year terms are expiring soon, according to Town Manager Jeremy Dennis.

Judith Hasko and Nicolas Targ are interested in continuing in their positions, while Mary Hefty, Forrest Linebarger, Steven Lovazzano and Sarah Wernikoff are applying to join the commission.
