Planning Commission looks at zoning compliance for Neely Wine tasting room

The Portola Valley Planning Commission discussed compliance with the town's general plan and zoning requirements of an application for a conditional use permit for wine tasting, onsite wine sales and an event space at Neely Wine, 555 Portola Road, at its meeting on Wednesday (Dec. 4), but took no action.

The commission intends to hold at least two more meetings on the proposal, according to Planning Director Laura Russell.

"(The commission) is going to continue to talk about zoning and potential impacts of the project," Russell said. The number of future meetings on the application "will depend on what it needs to make a decision," she said.

Neely has again reduced its goals for tasting hours, number of wine club events and other aspects of its application, which are described here.
