M-A, Paly girls win to remain atop basketball standings

Paly, M-A boys also win in basketball, several win in soccer

Malia Latu scored nine of her 14 points in the fourth quarter and Menlo-Atherton rallied to beat visiting Sequoia in a Peninsula Athletic League girls' basketball game Friday.

Sequoia held a 29-25 lead with under five minutes to play. Latu went into overdrive, scoring six of M-A's final seven points. She hit a layup to put the Bears (8-7, 4-0) ahead 30-29 and added a pair of free throws to clinch it. Read the story here.
