Lucas Vogel made seven 3-pointers en route to 31 points as Menlo School finally got the chance to play its West Bay Athletic League boys basketball opener, beating host Harker 90-44 on Tuesday night.
Sacred Heart Prep also played its league opener, beating Crystal Springs Uplands 80-21 at home as Aidan Braccia scored 26 points. Steve Emeneke scored 23 points as Priory downed visiting Pinewood 61-34 in another WBAL contest.
Every school in the WBAL had at least one game postponed last week due to concerns about the omicron variant and several had two games rescheduled.
Menlo played its first game in nearly three weeks, taking the early lead and running away with the victory. Senior Daniel Solomon scored eight of his 23 points in the first quarter.
The Knights (7-3, 1-0) made five 3-pointers in the opening frame (and 17 overall), with Solomon connecting on a pair.
Will Eggemeier added 14 points for Menlo, which had just eight available players.
Menlo's game with Eastside Prep on Friday has been postponed. The Knights return to action next Tuesday with a game at Crystal Springs Uplands.
Sacred Heart Prep, which plays at Pinewood on Friday, also established dominance early, opening a 28-8 lead after the first quarter and taking a 52-16 halftime advantage,
Braccia hit five 3-pointers as part of his scoring totals. Sam Norris added 14 points and Sachit Sinha had 10 for the Gators (7-2, 1-0).
Priory (6-7, 2-1) welcomed back point guard Tayo Sobomehin, who missed the first two league games. Rostand Olama Abanda added eight points for the Panthers, who play at Harker Thursday night.
Sharon Nejad scored 27 points and Shannon Li added 15 as Menlo won its first WBAL Foothill Division contest, handing Crystal Springs Uplands a 65-25 loss.
Menlo (5-4, 1-0) plays at Pinewood on Friday. Priory's home game Tuesday with Pinewood was postponed and rescheduled for Wednesday. Priory travels to play at Notre Dame Belmont on Friday.
In the Skyline Division, Sacred Heart Prep knocked off Eastside Prep 40-27 and Mercy Burlingame beat Castilleja 48-37.
In West Catholic Athletic League action, Mitty toppled St. Francis 62-27. Sydney Stewart led the Lancers (10-2, 0-1) with seven points. St. Francis plays at St. Ignatius on Friday night.
Cami Melcher scored in the second half as Menlo-Atherton played host Sequoia to a 1-1 tie in a Peninsula Athletic League Bay Division opener Tuesday.
