Sunset magazine will hold its 13th annual Celebration Weekend on Saturday and Sunday, June 5-6, on its seven-acre campus at 80 Willow Road in Menlo Park.

This year’s theme is “The West-on-the-Go.” Sunset editors, along with experts on food, wine, garden, home and design, will share tips, tastings and demonstrations. “Westerners are redefining the tradition of the road trip. They are injecting glamour into camping and … reveling in a renewed appreciation of living in the outdoors,” says Katie Tamony, Sunset editor-in-chief.

A 2,500-square-foot “Glam-camping” area will feature three trailers, including the Teardrop Trailer by Vacations-in-a-Can that can be customized with an espresso machine and solar shower.

Seventeen celebrity chefs from throughout the West will appear on the main cooking stage. Safeway will sponsor an outdoor entertaining area, where chefs demonstrate their grilling techniques and share recipes.

As part of Sunset’s “On the Go” theme, food trucks will be on site to serve up everything from cupcakes to Korean barbecue. The trucks will include those from Sam’s Chowder House near Half Moon Bay and Kara’s cupcakes.

A new wine seminar courtyard will feature wine seminars with Sara Schneider, Sunset’s wine editor, on a wine-lover’s journey from Washington to Oregon, then down to California’s Central Coast.

Seminars are $10 each on a first-come, first-served basis, with limited seating. The artisan food pavilion, next to the wine seminar courtyard, will feature cheese makers, bread makers, and cured meat and sweets purveyors.

Garden and home experts, including Sunset editors Julie Chai and Jess Chamberlain, will be dishing some dirt and home decorating tips. Visitors are also invited to tour the Thomas Church-designed gardens and the Sunset test garden.

Celebration Weekend sponsor, Honda, will give away a 2011 Honda Insight at the event.

Visitors will get a preview of Sunset’s new event, “Savor the Central Coast,” as dozens of Central Coast wineries, cheese makers and other artisan food producers convene in the main building.

Sunset’s Celebration Weekend will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, June 5 and 6, at 80 Willow Road in Menlo Park. There will be free shuttle service from Oracle (formerly Sun Microsystems) at 1601 Willow Road in Menlo Park, east of U.S. 101.

Tickets at the door are $16 for general admission and $12 for seniors over 60. For more information, call 800-786-7375.
