In response to concerns raised about the potential release of the draft environmental impact report for the El Camino Real/downtown specific plan and financial impact analysis, the city of Menlo Park is taking steps to ensure the reports don’t get lost in the holiday shuffle.
Earlier this month, the Planning Commission recommended waiting until after the New Year to start the meeting process, which will give the commission as well as the City Council a chance to formally discuss the plan, along with allowing the public to comment.
Associate city planner Thomas Rogers said the reports may still be released in December to let community review start as soon as possible, but that depending on the specific date of release, the standard 45-day review period could be extended by the project’s council subcommittee.
