Two men arrested by Menlo Park police in December after running two stop signs were sentenced Wednesday (Feb. 9) in San Mateo County Superior Court. A search of their car had turned up a half pound of cocaine and 25 methadone tablets, police said.

Vacaville residents Pedro Lopez, 34, and Alex Lopez Pulido, 29, pleaded no contest in January to possession of cocaine for sale.

Mr. Lopez received two years in state prison and $490 in fines, while Mr. Pulido, although fined the same amount, was put on three years’ probation following one year in county jail due to a “minimal criminal record,” according to the district attorney’s office. Both men were given credit for time served.

Although Mr. Lopez managed to pull down his pants and urinate in the police car while handcuffed without wetting himself, according to police, the gymnastic feat did not appear to influence his sentence.
