On Thursday (Nov. 10), Shelter Network hosts a Veterans Day Celebration at its Maple Street Shelter in Redwood City. Fourteen of the 76 homeless adults living at Maple Street Shelter are veterans, according to agency representatives.

The celebration includes tributes, testimonials from clients who served in the military, and a catered lunch.

Shelter Network is expanding its services for veterans through a new program sponsored by the federal government. Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) provides funding to help veteran families who are homeless – or at high risk of becoming homeless – secure and maintain permanent housing.

The event runs from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 1580A Maple St., Redwood. City, CA 94063
