Two 18-year-olds and two juveniles were arrested for allegedly pistol-whipping and robbing a man in unincorporated Redwood City on Wednesday night, the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office said.
The robbery was reported at 9:48 p.m. Wednesday in the 300 block of Berkshire Avenue. The 31-year-old victim said he was walking down the sidewalk just west of Curtis Avenue when four suspects approached, one pulled out a black semi-automatic handgun and they demanded his property.
The youths then hit him across the face with the firearm and punched him, causing him to fall to the ground, where they continued punching and kicking him and took some of his property, the Sheriff’s Office said.
The group then fled north on Curtis Avenue. Deputies responding to the report of the robbery located the four suspects in the area and arrested them, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
The two 18-year-olds, Siliveinusi Hendon and Tangata Laulea, both of Redwood City, were arrested on suspicion of robbery, while the two juveniles, ages 14 and 16, were released to their parents, deputies said.
