After renting there for about five years, Facebook has bought its original 57-acre campus, the former home of Sun Microsystems at Willow Road and Bayfront Expressway in Menlo Park, whose entrance is marked with the large “Like” thumbs-up icon.

It was a $202 million deal, according to the Silicon Valley Business Journal, citing public records.

The campus at 1 Hacker Way was being leased with the right to buy available to Facebook in the fifth year of the lease.

The move is one of the social media giant’s rapid real estate acquisitions in the area since the former Sun Microsystems campus was first leased in 2011. Since then, Facebook has bought 22 acres on Constitution Avenue, 59 acres at the former TE Connectivity site, and 56 acres at the Menlo Science and Technology Park. Facebook also recently leased 210,000 square feet of office space from Intuit in December.
