In recognition of Women’s History Month in March, the San Mateo County Arts Commission has gathered about 90 art submissions by women artists in San Mateo County and will display them between March 2 and April 28.

Artworks to be displayed will be two-dimensional works, including photographs, that “exemplify personal views of the world.”

The exhibit will be available for viewing from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, at the Caldwell and Community Galleries, located inside the Redwood City Hall of Justice at 400 County Center in Redwood City. There is metered street parking available as well as a metered parking lot available for visitors.

According to the exhibit curator Boris Koodrin, there was a 300 percent increase in submissions over last year.

He said a judge from the San Jose Museum of Art will choose three winners for $100 prizes and three honorable mentions among the submitted art pieces, which were collected on a first-come, first-served basis.
