The California Highway Patrol is seeking the public’s help in finding a driver and vehicle involved in a fatal crash April 6 on northbound U.S. 101 just south of Woodside Road.
The vehicle was described as a light brown minivan with the partial plate “4AYY—,” CHP Officer Art Montiel said.
Around 1 p.m., the suspect vehicle allegedly clipped a 2006 silver Scion, whose driver lost control of the car, causing it to strike the center divider and roll over.
Although the Scion driver had his seat belt on, he suffered major injuries and was taken to Stanford Hospital, where he died around 1:50 p.m., CHP officials said.
The Santa Clara County medical examiner identified him as Michael O’Brien, 58, of Pacifica.
Witnesses said the minivan was speeding at the time of the collision. No other vehicles were involved in the collision and no other passengers were in the Scion, according to the CHP.

And the police cannot check 999 license plates to see which ones are on light brown minivans and narrow the search considerably that way? Hmm.
