The Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office is not yet releasing the name of the victim in a fatal solo-vehicle crash on Interstate 280 on Friday evening (May 27) in Menlo Park.

The next of kin have yet to be notified, a representative of the Coroner’s Office told the Almanac.

The driver, the only occupant of the vehicle, had been traveling north on I-280 and crashed into a concrete barrier at the Sand Hill Road off-ramp at about 7:52 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.

The driver was transported to a hospital, but was pronounced dead by medics after the ambulance left the scene, the CHP said.
