Top-ranked junior and Bay Area native CiCi Bellis has accepted a wildcard to compete at the 2016 Bank of the West Classic, July 18-24 at the Taube Family Tennis Center on the campus of Stanford University.

Bellis is scheduled to play China’s Zhaoxuan Yang on Wednesday in her first match.

Sacred Heart Prep’s Sara Choy lost in the qualifying round of the tournament, 6-2, 6-1, to Mexico’s Giuliana Olmos.

The 17-year-old Bellis, who resides in Atherton, won the 2014 USTA Girl’s 18’s National title at age 15, the youngest winner of the event since Lindsay Davenport in 1991. She has won four career ITF singles titles and currently ranks 220th in World while playing a limited schedule due to age requirements.
