Brian Lin, 48, passed away unexpectedly in Palo Alto on Friday, March 2. Brian was born on June 3, 1969 in Taiwan and graduated from Gunn High School. He passionately practiced karate from an early age and found incredible joy teaching it to youth. He was absolutely adored by his students and locals from schools and community centers in Menlo Park, Palo Alto, Mountain View and Sunnyvale. Many knew Brian as a patient, humorous and gentle teacher who gave the utmost respect to his students. When Brian was not teaching karate, he was always ready to lend a hand, offer a joke or discuss technology and Jeopardy trivia. Brian will be lovingly remembered as a caring uncle, goofy brother and dedicated karate instructor. He is survived by his parents, Tsai Ju and Ting Lin; his older siblings, Jennifer Lee, Erica Lin and Randy Lin; his many nieces and nephews; and one grand niece.
