Dr. John H. Borghi passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 18th, 2023, at age 86. Born in Weehawken, NJ in 1937, “The Doc” or “Sonny” as he was affectionately known grew up in Englewood, NJ. He attended the colleges of Washington & Lee and William & Mary. After a brief stint in Vietnam with the Air Force, John earned his PhD in Psychology from the University of Arizona, and in 1967 was licensed as a Psychologist in the State of California. John taught as a Professor at San Jose State University for many years before going into private practice. He was also a proud Forensic Examiner for the Superior Court of California. As a longtime Bay Area resident, John was a die-hard 49er, Giants, and Sharks Fan. In his free time, you could catch him watching his teams either at the game or on TV. John loved to travel to Europe, Mexico, and even made a trip to Kenya. He was an opera aficionado, lover of fine foods, and had a wicked sense of humor. John is preceded in death by his daughter Patricia Borghi-Robinson. He is survived by his beloved, Catherine, children Gawain, Katerina, and Marguerite as well as many grandchildren. A private celebration will be held in his honor on 11/11. He will be very missed. May he rest in peace.
