John Robert McDougal passed away on October 10, 2021 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma after a long battle with cancer.
John was born on June 30, 1948 in San Francisco, a twin, and the son of Robert and Irene (Threlkeld) McDougal. He was raised in Palo Alto and graduated from Cubberley High School in 1967. He had a passion for race car and water sports. He would often be found at the Fremont Raceway with his 1958 Chevy Impala Convertible. He kept his love for classic cars by attending Hot August Nights every year, restoring and caring for many of his classic cars.
John served in the United States Army after High School and was stationed at the demilitarized zone in Korea. He met his future bride Janice Knight on a blind date and they married on December 27, 1968. Over the years he was employed by United Parcel Service and retired from Stanford Linear Accelerator Center (SLAC).
He is preceded in death by his parents Robert Lee and Irene (Threlkeld) McDougal; brother, Thomas Lee McDougal and sister, Carol Blakenship.
Survivors include his wife Janice McDougal; daughter Julie Eisenhauer and husband Bruce; sons, John (JT) McDougal, and Jacob McDougal and wife Danelle; grandchildren, Jordyn McDougal, Ben Eisenhauer, Emma Eisenhauer, twins; Caleb McDougal and Peyton McDougal; and Taylor McDougal; sisters, Robbie Jones, Twyla Baughman, Gloria Fowler, Portia Smith, and his twin Irene Jacobi; along with many nieces and nephews.
