Don was my first graduate student at Michigan. He was a superb student and a wonderful person. I greatly enjoyed my association with him, and followed the early stages of his career path with great interest. I am not at all surprised to learn about the rich, productive and meaningful life he lived. He was a good man. My best wished to Miriam and his family. Michael Martin

I remember Don very well. I worked with him at Finnigan for many years. He was one of the most dedicated members of the Finnigan staff supporting education, training, and development of staff and users. He should be remembered as the first President of the Finnigan Institute. The Institute was a first in the Mass Spectrometer community. I always thought if the Company supported it a bit more, it would have been a lasting success. All credit goes to Don and some to Quentin as well. Dave Smith
