Atherton: Third candidate files for three-way council race

Rose Hau, who serves as vice chair of the town's Civic Center Advisory Committee, has filed candidate papers to run for a seat on the Atherton City Council, according to the city clerk's office. She joins incumbents Bill Widmer and Rick DeGolia in the race for three open seats on the five-member council.

Michael Lempres, an attorney who is a member of the town's Transportation Committee and its Rail Committee, has also taken out papers.

Ms. Hau is an architect who has served as an Atherton planning commissioner.

Residents have until Friday, Aug. 8, to file papers for the Nov. 4 council race.
