Letter: Spare the air? Ban garden equipment too

As of the end of 2017, we had 16 winter-season "Spare the Air" days, many of them consecutive. It was cold! Why is the burning of wood in a stove, to keep one warm, banned, but leaf blowers, lawn mowers, chain saws and other gasoline-powered garden equipment are not banned on Spare the Air days? Gasoline engines not only cause air pollution, but also noise pollution.
