A public hearing on the proposed increases will have to be held before the town can adopt the new rates.
The proposed increases (which do not include administrative fees of 15 percent for Atherton residents and 30 percent for non-Atherton residents) are:
•Mondays through Thursdays: half days would increase from $700 to $800 and full days and evenings from $900 to $1,200.
•Fridays until 4 p.m.: an increase from $900 to $1,500 and from 5 p.m. to midnight, from $1,200 to $4,000.
•Saturdays and Sundays: half days would go up from $1,500 to $2,250; full days from $2,500 to $4,000. The rental cost 5 p.m. to midnight would also increase from $2,500 to $4,000.
