Menlo Park council to set new goals for a new year

The Menlo Park City Council is expected to kick off the new year with a goal-setting meeting on Friday, Jan. 11, from 1 to 5 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, 701 Laurel St., in the city's Civic Center.

The meeting is considered one of the most important times for people to bring up problems they wish the council to address in the coming year.

It's also typically the meeting in which the council chooses its top five priorities and defines which items are of highest priority to include on the city's work plan for the coming calendar year. That work plan, once approved, guides the formation of the city's budget, which must be approved by the start of the new fiscal year on July 1.
