Item G2 stands out as yet another illustration of how tight developers have become with the current council majority. In his correspondence to the council, James Pollock requests an immediate appeal of any Planning Commission decision regarding a conditional use permit for his medical office project at 321 Middlefield, stating:
"We believe it makes sense for the Council to consider the appeal as to 321 Middlefield at or before the time it considers the project at 75 Willow Road (already scheduled for November 14th) and also before the Council terms expire and a new Council is seated that will have no background as a group with respect to our project."
Now matter how "procedural" Mr. Pollock might claim this maneuver to be, it clearly demonstrates how fearful he is of foisting this project, which has as many unmitigable traffic impacts as an interstate, on a Council that lacks his favorite toadies (Duboc, Jellins, and Winkler). It may even hint at Mr. Pollock's notion of how vulnerable Duboc and Winkler have become in the upcoming City Council elections.
