Lane brother donate $50,000 to Yes on Measure A, the 1/8th cent parks sales tax

Original post made by Voter, another community, on Nov 6, 2006

The Lane brothers of Portola Valley and Atherton have donated a total of $50,000 to the Yes on Measure A campaign in San Mateo County. The measure would increase the sales tax in the county by 1/8th of a cent to pay for parks and park programs.

The yes campaign has raised $99,859, more than half that from two donors -- former publishers L.W. ``Bill'' Lane of Portola Valley, and his brother, Melvin Lane of Atherton, according to the San Jose Mercury News. Each donated $25,000. The San Mateo County Parks and Recreation Foundation donated $10,000 plus services of one employee.
