La Entrada Middle School Toy Drive

Original post made by Jill Youngberg, La Entrada School, on Nov 16, 2006

The Community Service Club students at La Entrada School will be collecting new, unwrapped toys for children in the community who, due to various cirmcumstances, may not otherwise receive presents during the holidays. Please help by bringing toys for kids of all ages to the front of La Entrada Middle School,2200 Sharon Road, Menlo Park, between 7:40 and 8:00 in the morning during the week of December 4-8. (If you're not an early riser you can bring them into the office.)The toys should be new, unwrapped, and can be for any age child. Especially needed are toys for kids age 12 - 18 who are often overlooked. Good ideas for this age group are: Basketballs, soccer balls, footballs and gift cards. It's a busy time of year, but if you have a child, letting your child choose the toy and talk with you about who might receive it will make for a more memorable experience. Menlo Park firefighters will come in their firetruck to the playground at lunchtime on Friday to pick up all the toys and make sure these presents arrive just in time to put smiles on the faces of children in our community.
