Don't bother with a brunch menu at Il Fornaio

Original post made by Prima Collazione, Menlo Park: Downtown, on Dec 13, 2006

For my money, the only thing worth getting at brunch at Il Fornaio is the French toast. The lump of melting marscapone cheese atop those lovely, airy slices of bread, doused with real maple syrup, is divine.

Everything else I've tried on the Sunday brunch menu has been disappointing.

But I don't like schlepping into Palo Alto if I don't have to. Is there anywhere else that has great French toast?

It sounds like you are talking gourmet french toast.

This might not appeal to you, but I find that the french toast at Anne's Coffe Shop in Downtown Menlo Park is wonderful! I love the fact that it has a hint of flour flavor.

#2 on my list is the Original Pancake House in the Los Altos Area.
