Registration for fall 2007 will be accepted beginning February 1, 2007 at Oak Knoll School and February 5, 2007 at Laurel School. Parents are asked to go directly to their home school to enroll their children. Parents whose children will be beginning kindergarten in the fall are invited to attend orientation meetings at either Oak Knoll School, 1895 Oak Knoll Lane, Menlo Park, for families who live on the west side of the El Camino Real in the Menlo Park City School District, or Laurel School, 95 Edge Road, Atherton, for families living in the District on the east side of the El Camino Real. Oak Knoll School is a kindergarten through fifth grade school. Laurel School is a kindergarten through second grade school.
-- Laurel School will host two kindergarten orientation meetings: Thursdays, April 5 and May 3 at 2:00 p.m. Parents may reserve a space at one of these meetings at the time of registration. Nancy Hendry is the Principal.
-- Oak Knoll School will hold orientation discussions and tours for small groups of parents at 8:30 a.m. on February 7, February 15, March 1, March 15, and April 5. Please contact Barb Snow, School Secretary, to reserve a space at one of these sessions. Oak Knoll School Principal is David Ackerman.
Children who will be age 5 by December 2, 2007, are eligible for kindergarten. Before a registration packet is issued, parents must present (1) a birth certificate (or other legal proof of age), (2) proof of residence – the most recent P.G. & E bill (new residents may present a deed, lease or rental agreement, to be followed up with the P.G. & E. bill in their name as soon as possible), and (3) proof of immunization for: DTP, Polio, Hepatitis B (must have completed series which takes up to six months), MMR and Varicella (or a doctor’s signature that the child has had chickenpox).
Parents are asked to register their children as soon as possible to assist the District with its class planning for the 2007-08 school year. For more information, please call the District Office at 321-7140, Ext. 603, the individual school site, or visit the District website @ www.mpcsd.org.
