What are you doing to prepare for wildland fire, earthquake?

Original post made by Be Prepared, Portola Valley: Westridge, on Jan 26, 2007

A wildland fire or an earthquake could wreak havoc in Portola Valley, with its wooded semi-rural character and its location along the San Andreas fault.
What are you doing to prepare for this? Post you comments by clicking on the "Add a comment" linke.
Anyone interested in receiving training for such an emergency will have an opportunity at 5 p.m. Wednesday night, Jan. 31, at the Historic Schoolhouse in Portola Valley. Members of the Town Council will be participating in the two-hour session.
The presentation by Stephen Mahaley of the San Mateo County Office of Emergency Services will include discussion of the Incident Command System and the National Incident Management System. Every participant will receive a certificate.
For more information, call or write to Steven Willis, the assistant town administrator at 851-1700, ext 18, or [email protected]
